Activewear we build

Polyester-rich. Stays cool, holds shape.

Full-bleed prints, no cracking after wash
Activewear fabric choice determines how the garment performs in use — not just how it looks on the rack. The wrong fabric for a running kit is not a style problem. It's a product failure. Here's what each construction delivers.
Tightly knit double-face polyester, smooth on both sides
Moisture-wicking, fast-dry, shape retention under repeated wash
Training tees, football kits, running tops, team uniforms
Sports teams, gym labels, corporate wellness programmes
Sublimation primary · Screen print viable
Nylon warp with 15–20% spandex content, four-way stretch construction
Full range-of-motion stretch, compression-ready, excellent shape recovery under load
Yoga wear, compression shorts, gym tights, performance leggings, fitted jerseys
Yoga and pilates brands, gym wear labels, athleisure D2C brands
Heat transfer · DTF (spot placement)
Chief value cotton knit with moisture management finish, single or pique construction
Softer hand than pure polyester, good wicking, cotton comfort for leisure-active use
Athleisure tees, training polos, sports club leisure kits
Athleisure brands, sports clubs wanting comfort over compression
Screen print · DTF · Puff print

Performance fabrics behave differently from cotton under print. Stretch distorts. Heat affects synthetic fibres. Moisture-wicking finishes can repel ink. Knowing which method to use — and which to avoid — is the difference between a durable print and a production failure.
Sublimation dye bonds at molecular level with polyester fibre. The print becomes part of the fabric — it cannot crack, peel, or fade under normal wash cycles. Works only on 100% or near-100% polyester base fabrics. Produces photographic-quality all-over prints including panel-seam-to-seam designs. Typical on: sports kits, jerseys, compression wear.
Screen print works on polyester-cotton blends and poly-pique fabrics where sublimation is not appropriate. Requires stretch-additive inks to prevent cracking on four-way stretch fabrics. Ideal for chest logos, back prints, and sleeve placement on gym tees and leisure activewear. Not recommended for all-over pattern on high-stretch fabrics.
When you submit a brief, we review three factors before recommending a print method: (1) base fabric composition — sublimation requires polyester, (2) print coverage — all-over versus placement logo, and (3) stretch exposure — compression wear has different requirements than training tees. We specify this in the quote. You don't need to decide blind.
Sublimation: 100% polyester base required
Screen print: suitable for poly-cotton and CVC performance fabrics
Heat transfer: spot applications, short runs, reflective elements
DTF: detail-heavy logos on non-sublimation fabrics
Activewear manufacturing covers a wide range of end-uses. The common factor is performance fabric and production that meets the spec — not just aesthetics.
Clubs, sports academies, and team kit manufacturers needing custom jerseys, training tees, and performance shorts. Sublimation printing for all-over kit designs. MOQ 200 per style — viable for a single team or small league order.
D2C gym wear brands building their first or second collection. Compression tights, training tops, sports bras, shorts. Nylon-spandex constructions with four-way stretch. Private label from 200 pieces — custom labels, hang tags, branded elastic.
Founders building athleisure lines that bridge performance and lifestyle wear. CVC performance fabric for cotton comfort with moisture management. Designed to perform in a gym session and look right everywhere else. Typically ordered alongside t-shirts and hoodies as a complete range.
The 200-piece MOQ applies per style and colour. Sports teams, gym label founders, and athleisure D2C brands can all start at this scale — without negotiating or compromising on spec.
Klothewala accepts minimum orders from 200 pieces per style for custom activewear including training tees, sports jerseys, gym wear, and compression shorts. This applies to all fabric types including polyester interlock, nylon-spandex blends, and CVC performance fabrics. The 200-piece MOQ is per style and colour combination, making it viable for small sports brands, gym labels, and D2C founders launching their first activewear range.
Custom sports jerseys in India are typically manufactured in 100% polyester interlock or polyester-spandex blends at 140–180 GSM. Polyester is required for sublimation printing — the preferred method for all-over kit designs — because sublimation dye bonds at a molecular level with polyester fibre. Klothewala manufactures custom sports jerseys at its own production unit in Tirupur from 200 pieces with sublimation and screen print options.
Sublimation printing on activewear is a process where dye is heat-transferred into polyester fibre at a molecular level, making the print part of the fabric rather than a layer on top. It cannot crack, peel, or fade under normal wash cycles — typically lasting 50 or more washes without degradation. Sublimation requires 100% or near-100% polyester base fabric and produces photographic-quality, all-over prints including seam-to-seam coverage.
Yes. Klothewala manufactures custom compression wear and yoga tights using nylon-spandex fabric constructions — typically 80% nylon and 20% spandex — at 200–240 GSM with four-way stretch and full range-of-motion recovery. Custom branding options include woven neck labels, custom elastic waistbands, hang tags, and heat-transfer logo placement. Minimum order is 200 pieces per style from our Tirupur production unit.
Custom activewear manufacturing at Klothewala takes approximately 5–7 weeks from sample approval to dispatch. Sampling takes 10–14 days at our Tirupur production unit. Bulk production runs 4–5 weeks depending on style complexity and print method. Sublimation orders with all-over printing are at the higher end of that range. International shipping to the UK, UAE, Australia, and USA adds 7–14 days.
A knitwear manufacturer produces garments from knitted fabric constructions — including t-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts — predominantly in cotton and cotton blends. A sportswear or activewear manufacturer works with technical fabrics including polyester, nylon-spandex, and elastane, and uses performance processes including sublimation printing, moisture-wicking finishes, and four-way stretch construction. Klothewala manufactures both — knitwear for fashion and branded use, and technical activewear for sports brands, gym labels, and athleisure brands, from its own production unit in Tirupur, India.
Send a reference garment, a tech pack, or a brief description of the activity and fit you need. We'll come back within 48 hours with fabric recommendations and a production quote.
